Contains a memoir detailing his maritime experiences. Describes the logistics of naval supplies, running smoke screens under naval bombardments, and dodging kamikaze attacks. Discusses his unit's role in supplying the invading troops at Saipan and Layte, in the Philippines, with a description of naval bombardments on enemy coastal batteries at the former battle. Discusses his contact with his family and members of the LDS Church throughout the war. Includes his discharge papers, a card stating which medals he was awarded, and a copy of his birth certificate. Photographs show him in full military dress, his ship, and fellow crew members.
